Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–9 pm. Palo Alto is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Palo Alto follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Even just the appearance of Mr. Sun Tea was unappealing, but I'd never been to Mr. Sun Tea, so I had to give it a chance. I walked up to the self-serve tablet, skimmed the menu a bit, and then chose a drink. But after choosing all of the required customization options, no matter what I did, the app would not let me add the drink to the cart. I tried other drinks in case what I wanted was simply out of stock, but every other drink I tried to select would not be added to the cart. It was broken. Not off to a good start. I gave up and walked over to the counter, and an employee quickly took my order. I ordered a jasmine milk tea at 50% sweetness with brown sugar boba, which costed $7.25. Expensive. My jasmine milk tea tasted sweeter than 50%, but I understand different places have different definitions of half sweet. However if they simply disregarded my sweetness request, it wouldn't be the first time a boba place has done that to me. The brown sugar boba were too firm and chewy, it honestly felt like there were gummies were in my drink. Their boba needs to be lighter and airier, that was not a pleasant texture. At least they were very generous with the boba, even when I finished t

4.5/5 overall! The Boba is so yumm here. Tastes different than the typical honey boba elsewhere. Their hot tea is nicely frothed instead of just microwaved in other tea shops. We love seeing their machine making boba. One feedback: The toilet is often dirty or have no toilet paper. Something they need to visit every 2-4 hours to keep it clean and stocked. The owner is very sweet and attentive. ,decent cafe to hangout while sipping delicious tea, definitely recommended!

Tried the signature tea with chia seeds and really enjoyed it! The flavor was clean, refreshing, and not overly sweet β€” just the right balance of tea and fruit. The chia added a nice texture without feeling heavy like boba. The shop itself is bright and cozy, with a relaxed vibe that makes it a nice spot to hang out or take a short break downtown. Service was friendly and quick, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients. Overall, a solid boba stop in Palo Alto β€” I’ll definitely be back to try more of their drinks!

πŸ§‹ Can’t recommend the Mango Boba Tea I had here enough! πŸ₯ πŸ˜πŸ«ΆπŸ’• I had it with rainbow boba as an add on and this has to be hands down one of my favorite bobas I’ve had. Perfect amount of sweetness too πŸ₯° πŸ§‹ My guy tried their warm hazelnut milk tea and it was a very interesting and tasty because warm boba tea is very uncommon ✨ πŸ§‹ Bonus points for the No preservatives and large portion of the drink size 🎊 πŸ§‹ Also, the lady at the counter was super sweet and excited to recommend and provided samples of boba to us to help with ordering πŸ€— πŸ§‹ The place does have some seats and a cute, neat, minimalist aesthetic decor to it too ! 🌱 Excited to come back again someday ❀️

I have been at other Mr. Sun other location before. This one is in downtown Palo Alto. The interior is cozy. Next to the cashier, there are many empty non alkhohol beer bottles line up. For me, it doesn't really look good, especially since it seems dusty. When we were there, the ordering machine broke, and you can do cash only or order online. Looks like they are not prepared for it. We ordered grapfruit green tea with crystal boba with 20 or 25 % sweetness. It is quite pricey for a boba drink to be $8+. The order was ready pretty quickly. Interestingly, the crystal boba texture is like regular honey boba, not the same as all other boba shops, which has crystal boba as topping options. With the sweetness level which we ordered, for me it is good enough. It is not too sweet and you can enjoy the grape fruit. The tea, I think, is a bit stronger, but I like it. I like boba, but I don't like boba milk tea.
